Upcoming Events

Christian Group of Young Men (CGYM)

The Christian Group of Young Men (CGYM) is a small group for high school boys that meets on a weekly basis.  CGYM is currently meeting at 7 pm every Tuesday night. Each evening begins with an informal time of basketball, ping-pong, or pool, followed with some discussion of the previous week and a “check in time” for each guy.  This small group is a great way to get to know some of the other young men in the youth group.  Contact the Director of Youth Ministries for more information.

V VIBE

VIBE is a recreational event for Jr. and Sr. high students. Beginning at 5 pm every Sunday evening, the students eat dinner together and then enjoy a fun activity until 7 pm. For a full listing of upcoming VIBE themes or activities, check the church calendar.

Sunday Morning Live! (SML)

Every Sunday morning, except when the Youth Choir sings once a month in worship, PVUMC Youth Ministry offers Sunday Morning Live or SML!, a time to gather and participate in age-specific classes in the Youth Lounge. Curriculum changes throughout the year.

Velocity

The Velocity team is the student-led leadership team at PVUMC. Velocity team members help plan and implement youth ministry events throughout the year, as well as act as the ambassadors and role-models within the youth ministry program.  If you are interested in serving on the Velocity team, please contact the Director of Youth Ministries.

Confirmation

PVUMC Youth Ministry offers students 8th grade and up a chance to confirm their Christian beliefs through its confirmation process. Confirmands must participate in two weekends — Confirmation Weekend A and B — offered in the fall and in the spring (September or October and March or April), where they will learn the story of their faith, as contained in the Old and New Testaments, as well as the history and traditions of Christianity and the United Methodist Church. All students in 7th grade and older are welcome to participate. Please contact the Director of Youth Ministries for more information.

Missions

The PVUMC Youth Ministry offers several mission opportunities to its students throughout the year. These service-oriented projects include local, state, national, and international opportunities.
