Romans 12:1-2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When Life Intrudes

What keeps or blocks me from God?  The simple answer: Life.  God gave us life to live our journey and to live it in a godly way.  We are born with a pure heart and an opened mind to hear God and his goodness.  As we grow, we start listening to the people around us and stop listening to our father who created us and Satan takes his first steps into our life.  Before we know what is happening and changing, Satan is now walking not a few steps behind us but he is walking behind us reminding us of all our faults and sins.  In a blink of an eye, we are adults living our lives and proving to others by bragging, jealousy, lying, and with our daily agenda, 24 hours just doesn’t seem like enough time, so we focus on our worldly things, not on God our father.  It takes a lifetime to return back to realizing and slowing the pace down to spend quiet time focusing on God.

But our forgiving God sends us down these paths to make us stronger and to teach us how to stop and listen and talk with our God for our strength.

Prayer:  Give Me Strength, Lord

Lord, you are Holy above all others, and all of the strength that I need is in your hands.

Sometimes I feel like I can’t go on. The pain and the fear are too much for me, and I know that I don’t have the strength on my own to get through this.

I know that I can come to you, Jesus, and that you will hear my prayer. I know that it is not your intent to bring me to this point just to leave me in the wilderness alone.

Please, Lord, give me the strength that I need to face today. I don’t have to worry about tomorrow.

Keep me from sinning during this trial. Instead, help me to keep my eyes on you. You are the Holy Lord, and all of my hope rests in you.

Thank you for hearing my prayer. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
