John 11: 43-44
“Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen and a grave cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
Like Lazarus, many of us are not experiencing the abundant life Jesus offers because we are locked in our caves and wrapped in grave clothes. What might these be? Expectations we place on ourselves or that others place on us; trying to live the “good life” but finding no joy of fulfillment in things or worldly success; feeling we don’t measure up as Christians; shame. Any and all of these rob us of the abundant life Christ intends. From what well does this abundant life flow? The indwelling Holy Spirit. Open the door of your heart to Him and allow Him to remake you in Christ’s image. Don’t remain bound while the sands of the hour glass slip by. You could be experiencing eternal life NOW.
Prayer: Come Holy Spirit. Invade my heart, purify it, and empower me to become a reflection of Jesus Christ to my family, my church, my community and my world.
