Keith Sobraske has been honored with the Children’s Ministry Team’s “Papa Jon Award” for the 2014-15 Sunday School year. This award is given annually to a volunteer who has done an outstanding job of ministry with the children at PVUMC. Keith has been teaching the Doves (2 year olds) for about 10 years. He is loved and adored by children and parents alike. He has earned the nickname, “the child whisperer,” because the little ones may enter crying but after spending time in the classroom, they don’t want to leave. Keith has also served our children during the annual Easter Egg hunt. He and his wife Mindy enjoy hiding the eggs and watching the little ones find their treasures.

Keith joined PVUMC in 1985, and has served in varying capacities, including Chair of PSPRC and Church Council. Teaching the Doves’ class for 2- year-olds is something he loves, as well as leading various classes for adults. He has served as the Adult Learning chair and is currently co-teaching a class called “Painting the Stars.”

Hear Keith speak and share another love of his — poetry — at the March 3rd On the First Tuesday gathering in the Fellowship Center. Join us for dinner at 5:30 pm and stay for Keith’s talk and a Q&A on “Illuminating the Divine Through Poetry.” He will share some of his own poetry, as well as some from famous poets. Come hear how the prisms of theology and literature have influenced his life journey with the Divine, and expanded his understanding of how God works in the universe and in our own lives.

If you see Keith, please congratulate him on his award. We are so proud. — The CMT, Children’s Ministry Team
