Join us for the next community concert — A Night at the Opera — Friday, February 27, 2015, at 7 pm in the Sanctuary.
The concert features our very talented Asleif Willner, soprano, and Michael Talerico, tenor. Both are section leaders in our Chancel Choir, and you can hear them often in worship on Sunday mornings, particularly at the 9:30 am worship service.
Willmer has been acclaimed as “a most incredible voice” by the Arizona Daily Star, and is a doctoral student in vocal performance at Arizona State University. Talerico is currently in the Young Artist Teaching program for the Arizona Opera Company, and is also a member of the Arizona Opera Chorus.
All of our community concerts are free, though we do “pass the plate” at the event if you feel the spirit move you to make a donation in support of the series. Your generosity makes it possible for us to bring you this very talented duo, as well as all of our other performers who have joined us during 2014 and the others who will perform later this year.
Mark your calendar for our March concert, Bob Chilcott’s Requiem, performed by our adult choirs, on Friday, March 27 at 7 pm, in the sanctuary. Our final concert on Friday, April 17 at 7 pm will be “Jazz at the Perk,” where we invite you to listen to great jazz while enjoying “the perks” of the Paradise Perk, our church coffee shop, which will be open for the concert. Smoothies, tea, coffee and snacks will be available for purchase, with proceeds going toward our Youth Ministries. The Perk’s regular hours are Sunday mornings, 9 am-1:30 pm.
