On Sunday, May 10, Mother’s Day, PVUMC presents its annual celebration of Music Ministries. We will feature all of our musical groups, including children and youth choirs, youth and adult handbell ensembles, and adult and combined choirs at the 9:30 am service. We invite you to bring your mother to church for a morning of uplifting and inspiring music. We’ll also have flowers for all the women as they leave our services.

Later in the month, our 1st through 6th grade Music Makers group that meets on Wednesday afternoons during the school year will be performing a spring musical called A Technicolor Promise during the 9:30 am worship service on Sunday, May 17. A Technicolor Promise retells the well-known story of Noah and the ark in a new way. The rainbow is a wonder of creation and reminds us of God’s overwhelming love and grace. Please come out and show your support. Click here to hear their rendition of Dancing Two by Two by Allen Pote that they sang on Sunday, April 26, 2015.

In the evening on Sunday, May 17, at 6 pm in the sanctuary, the Youth Choir will hold a Bon Voyage Concert before they travel to Las Vegas, NV for their spring tour. The tour includes performing at senior homes, partnering with Desert Springs UMC for a Sunday service, and experiencing Cirque du Solei’s “O” and a visit to the Hoover Dam. You can help support the Youth Choir by giving generously at the concert (we’ll take a free-will offering at the event) and by encouraging your teen to join the choir next year. The choir is under the leadership of Tommy Strawser, an accomplished singer with the Grammy-award winning Phoenix Chorale, and a performer with Childsplay, a theater group in Tempe, AZ. He also leads our Sunday morning Children’s Choir which meets on Sundays right after Sunday School, at 10:30-11 am.
