Celebrate Father’s Day at PVUMC on Sunday, June 21, 2015. The Children’s Ministry Team will have ice cold root beer for all the dads after every worship service, and Youth Ministries Director Christopher Wurpts offers an inspiring message about forgiveness.

Summer Sunday Camp meets during the 9:30 am service; children come to worship with you, stay for the Children’s Moment, then go to their classes with their teachers. Preschoolers may be dropped off and picked up right at their classroom in E8. The Childcare Center is in the G building and open for the 9:30 and 11:15 am services. At Ignite, our later service, children have a special play area, and are invited to join in all the worship activities from singing with the Praise Band to taking communion.

After the service, dads, don’t forget to grab a root beer! For more refreshments and snacks, as well as a place to just relax, head down to the Paradise Perk, our on-campus, full service coffee shop. And, if dad brings that complimentary root beer to the Paradise Perk, they’ll turn it into a root beer float for a buck! Everyone else can get a 16oz root beer shake or float for $2.50. What a deal! Need a last-minute card or gift for dad? How about some patriotic décor for July 4th? Surprise someone and help fund PVUMC missions at the same time. Stop by Serendipities, our campus gift shop, 9-11 am. There’s only one more Sunday left before the gift shop closes for the month of July. The best part? All your purchases fund missions.

Did you know the first Father’s Day started with a small United Methodist Church in West Virginia? It was first celebrated on July 5, 1908 — in church! Watch the video below to find out more:
