Parenting is hard. Even the people that look like they have it all figured out are basically winging it, if everyone’s being completely honest. There is no manual on how to raise a human being. What there is is a LOT of conflicting information on what a parent should or should do or say at all times. What’s more, scripture is not a lot of help – not with foundational stories like Abraham’s parenting of Isaac and Ishmael. This week, we discuss what we learn, and perhaps what we should forget, in that example from one of the Bible’s first families.
