Journeying Through Grief Support Group Begins October 26

You are invited to join our fall grief support group, which begins Monday, October 26, 2015 and meets weekly 11:30 am-1 pm, every Monday until November 30 in F8, the Fireside Room.

Sharing your experience with others who are on this same path can be very helpful. We will share suggestions for what can help make the grief trip more bearable and understandable. We also have a grief newsletter available every month. Click here to read October’s issue.

Even though there is no cost to attend, we strongly encourage you to register in advance so we can have materials for you at the class. To register, please call Gretchen Holt at 602-840-8360, ext 132, or email her at

With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, extra support can be helpful, as is a special worship service to remember and honor those you have lost.

Memorial Service of Light – Sunday, November 22, 2015

We invite you to join us on Sunday, November 22, 2015 for the annual Memorial Service of Light at 6 pm in the Chapel. This year, the service will be a reflective Taizé worship experience — with scripture, prayer, music and candlelight. Taizé worship is being incorporated in a wide variety of churches, Protestant and Catholic, and its pattern of devotion is emulated in other monastic communities around the world. Sung and chanted prayers, meditation, periods of silence, liturgical readings and private petitions offer us a way to connect with Jesus, our saviour. We last offered this type of service on Good Friday.

The Memorial Service of Light is a time to remember our loved ones who have died (recently or not). This service of music, candlelight, scripture and prayer is a beautiful way to honor your loved ones. The name of your loved one will be read and a candle lit in memory of them during the service. The names will be printed in the evening’s program. A short reception follows the service.
