On Mother’s Day, May 8, 2016, we invite you to join us at PVUMC for a celebration of music in honor of our mothers. Every year on this Sunday, we feature our many choirs, from children to adults, and offer uplifting music in celebration of our mothers. This year, we offer several gospel selections, including “Good News! The Chariot’s Comin’!”
At 8 am, the Paradise Singers will be accompanied by saxophone and drums for “In That Great Gettin’ Up Mornin,'” and they’ll sing again at 9:30 am, along with the Youth Choir (Elijah Rock) and the Chancel Choir (Jesus Loves Me – arr. Hassell). The Chancel Choir will also sing “He Never Failed Me Yet,” by Robert Ray.
Our Junior Bells and Bells of Paradise will also participate at 9:30 am, along with our children’s choir, the Praise Singers. Our littlest singers, the Mini-Singers, led by Shari Paris, will sing at the beginning of the Ignite service at 11:15 am in the chapel.
At both the 8 am service in the chapel, and at the 9:30 am service in the sanctuary, Rev. Doug Norris preaches part two of the series, “Dream Big,” as he focuses on “A Mother’s Dream.” Read more here.
Rev. Eve Williams preaches at the 11:15 am Ignite service, part two of a different series: Faith+Play. If you ever wanted to play in worship, this is your chance!
Hope to see you Sunday!
