Centering Prayer and Practice
Four Wednesdays in June, 6:15 – 7:30 pm, H6
Leaders: Rev. Andrea Andress and Kathy Kramer-Howe
Centering Prayer is a method of silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer; prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself. This method of prayer is both a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. The program encourages a daily prayer practice and provides participants with the tools to do so.
Each class will combine teaching and discussion, a video presentation by Carl Arico, and a 20-minute prayer practice. Each class stands alone, but the progression will give your greater facility with this prayer practice. There is no cost, but registration if helpful. Contact Rev. Andrea Andress to register or for more information. For child care, please call 602-840-8360, ext 134, at least 48 hours in advance of the class.
