On Sunday, June 26, youth and adults participating in the Senior High Youth Mission Trip to Piura, Peru will be commissioned at the 9:30 am worship service.

The team of 50 students and adults will work with and stay at Santisimo Sacramento Parish, a Catholic ministry which offers continuous support to people living in some of the poorest neighborhoods in the city. The group will build homes, work in an orphanage, serve at an all-girls school, and assist with a parish hospice program.

For all those who bought tickets to our mission dinner, bid on auction items, made outright donations to our youth ministry and missions program, and regularly stop by the Paradise Perk on Sunday mornings – thank you. As the team goes out from this place to do God’s work, and be God’s love in action in a faraway place, we ask for your prayers for all the participants and the people who the team will serve. May the seeds of faith be planted and continue to grow.

To stay in touch with the team while they are in the mission field, we invite you to visit the Peru Mission Trip Travel Blog at www.pvumcperu.com

The students will be sharing their stories July 1-10. Comments and encouragement welcome!
