Saguaros kick off their new season on Thursday, September 15 at 10 am.

Kay Jones, a PVUMC member, will share some of her personal experiences from her 10 years of working in third world countries on board the Hospital Ship SS Hope. The group will share a potluck meal. Please bring $3, and if your last name begins with A-M, bring a salad; if your last name begins with N-Z, please bring a dessert. Friends are always welcome!

Coincidentally, another PVUMC member, Sally Wilder, Tom and Maggie Wilder’s daughter, is a pediatric ICU nurse who just started an assignment on board the Africa Mercy with Mercy Ships. She will be volunteering from September through January, and you can follow her blog here:

She is grateful for the continued support, prayers and all around good vibes surrounding this adventure, and was recently mentioned in our prayer chain. If you would like to donate to Mercy Ships, check out her fundraising page.  Sally has been a Pediatric Intensive Care nurse for three years working in Tucson, Arizona. She looks forward to using her skills aboard the Africa Mercy in Benin.

Mercy Ships delivers free, world-class healthcare services to the forgotten poor in developing nations. More than 1,500 crew members from around the globe serve annually. Each one volunteers his/her services to help fulfill the mission of Mercy Ships.
