The PVUMC Preschool Board is co-hosting a sale with the Serendipities church gift shop for the holidays, November 16-17. This is the perfect opportunity to grab a few holiday gifts and stocking stuffers for the kids in your life and support the preschool at the same time.

Here is a sample of some of the items that will be offered:
• Books
• Bathtub toys
• Puzzles
• Stuffed animas
• Games
• Doll/accessories
• Cars/trucks
• Educational activities

Please be sure to come check out all of the great items November 16-17, 8:30-9:30 am or 11:45am-1:15 pm each day. The shop is located in the same building as the Childcare Center and Library. Items will be displayed in front of the Library (across from D1).

Shop and Share

Serendipities will be open for Shop and Share both days too, from 9 am-3 pm. You can designate the proceeds from your sale to UMOM, Audrey’s Angels, Mingus Mountain Camp (scholarships), Wesley Community Center, or all four. The shop will be open extended hours each Sunday throughout the Christmas season, beginning Sunday, November 20, 2016. Shop and Share will continue on Wednesday mornings, 9 am-12 noon, November 30-December 21, 2016.

The first weekend of December, the shop will be open twice. First, 9 am-3 pm on Saturday, December 3, when there will be a special Raku workshop to make ceramic Christmas ornaments held in H7. Registration is limited, and costs $20. Explore your Christmas story while experiencing the transformative raku process. Select a handmade ceramic ornament and use colorful glazes to decorate. Email to register or for more details about this artist-led experience open to 6th graders and up with a parent or guardian.

On the evening of Sunday, December 4, when the church presents the PVUMC Christmas Concert: Sing Noel,  at 6 pm, the gift shop will be open for business, 5-8 pm. The concert begins at 6 pm and is a great way to usher in the Christmas season. Paradise Winds, a woodwind quintet who performed as part of the PVUMC Community Concert Series last year, as well as PVUMC’s own children, youth and adult choirs, will make this an evening to remember. A dessert reception follows in the Fellowship Center. Stop by Serendipities before the concert while your children rehearse, during intermission, or after during the reception time.

If you would like to volunteer to help in the gift shop, please contact one of the volunteer managers: Barbara or Meg. Retail experience is not needed, though appreciated. All proceeds from Serendipities go toward missions.

Serendipities was open 9 am-3 pm, Saturday, November 5 for the Enneagram Workshop, “Understanding the Enneagram’s 27 Instinct-Based Subtypes: An Introduction to the Three Distinct Versions of Each of the Nine Personality Types” with Beatrice Chestnut, November 4-6, 2016.
