Dear Friends in Faith,
Yesterday was an important day in our democracy as millions exercised their right to vote and selected leaders who will guide our nation and influence our world. We are grateful to live under the rule of law and in a land where the citizens make their choice for the kind of political leadership they desire. The election season has been a difficult one, with anger and frustration on all sides. Let us pray now for healing for our nation. Let us pray for our newly elected leaders to be guided by God’s will and love. Let us pray for each other to be faithful people who continue to serve God and share an example to the world of what it means to be disciples of Jesus Christ.
Our sanctuary and meditation room (H6) will be open during office hours the next two days (November 9 and 10) for prayer if you would like to come by to pray individually or with others. Our prayer room under the chapel is open 24 hours a day.
On Sunday, we invite you to be a part of our Change the World Day. This unique, once-a-year experience was designed to give us the opportunity to be Jesus’ hands and feet in the world, making a difference by bringing God’s love into action. You have a chance to join your church family as we go out and serve at local nonprofits as well as work on projects at the church which benefit others. Friends are welcome to this community event, which reaches out to so many and provides support and healing to many. Join us as we bring God’s love into action.
Click here to read about which projects we’re offering, which ones are available and to sign up for a project, or simply join us on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 8 am on the sanctuary patio. We will find a place for you, and give you a T-shirt while supplies last!
Click here to read more about the morning’s schedule, which begins at 8 am with registration / check-in, a service of blessing at 8:30 am, and projects at 9 am. Prayer and Communion is available following the service for those who would like to participate.
Everyone is invited to lunch at 12:30 pm in the Fellowship Center (or 11:30 am for those who remain on campus). We’ll show photos from the morning, and there will be door prizes!
May God continue to guide you and may God’s peace rule in our hearts and in our world – always.
