PVUMC hosts The Open Table’s Campfire on January 28, 2017. From 9 am – 12 noon in H1, everyone is welcome to come and see what Open Table does to change the world one person or family at a time.
The gathering will celebrate graduated brothers and sisters in our area, and we’ll have an opportunity to listen to the latest national updates from the founder and PVUMC member, Jon Katov. The gathering will conclude with a discussion led by Rev. Brenda Smith of next steps to support our local churches in Arizona.
The Open Table is a movement that reaches out to the marginalized. A group of 6-10 people surround a struggling young adult, veteran, homeless person or family to guide them back on their feet to independence. It usually takes eight months to a year for this journey. It is truly putting God’s love into action and embracing all people. PVUMC just started its 13th table!
PVUMC serves as one of the leaders in The Open Table movement. We are always seeking those who wish to serve on a table. Contact our Open Table & Lay Leader, Kent Heltne, firstname.lastname@example.org to serve on a table. Please RSVP to Pastor Brenda for the Campfire gathering on January 28 so we can plan appropriately.
