Deadline Extended to April 13

Open to all women 18 and older. Registration opens March 1 and closes on April 13. The original deadline — published in the brochure — was April 2, but has been extended while rooms remain available. A day (Commuter) option is available as space allows, but food orders will be placed on April 14.

 

Cost

$210/person for a double (2 persons in one room); $170/person for a triple (3 to a room); $150/person for a quadruple (4 to a room). The cost includes two nights lodging and four meals, including Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast.

Commuter Option: (no overnight/lodging): $70; includes two meals: Saturday lunch and dinner.

Please note: there are no single-room options.

  1. Register online with an option to pay online or via check – OR –  
  2. Register using the paper brochure registration form and pay with cash or check. If paying by check, please make it payable to “PVUMC” and write “Women’s Retreat” on the memo line. Return your completed registration form with payment to the church office.

 

Retreat Leaders

Rev. Andrea Andress

Andrea works with the PVUMC Transformational Living Ministry Team to provide opportunities for connecting with God through the mind, body and spirit. The Enneagram, Spiritual Direction, the Biblical Garden, the Labyrinth and Centering Prayer are major emphases in this work. Andrea also works with children and families at PVUMC as associate pastor for spiritual formation, and guides the Caring Ministry Team.

Kathy Kramer-Howe
Kathy learned Centering Prayer in 1991 and it has been essential to her 17 years of work as a hospice social worker and grief counselor.
She is on the leadership team of Contemplative Outreach of Phoenix, and was commissioned to teach Centering Prayer. She has been an active participant and leader for retreats and workshops focused on Centering Prayer, and spends daily quiet time in God’s presence.

Please feel free to bring a friend. You do not have to attend PVUMC to participate.

 

 

 

Retreat Weekend Schedule: April 28-30, 2017

  • Friday Check-in begins at 6 pm. Program begins at 7 pm
  • Saturday Weekend program includes time to be alone, as well as community time spent practicing yoga, learning centering prayer, listening to taizé music, meditating with chimes, creating art and journaling.
  • Sunday 11 am Closing Worship
  • 11:30 am Departure

Prayer, Worship and Yoga

Former PVUMC staff members will assist. Tawn Watkins will help lead prayer and worship and Mary McGill, from Desert Song, will lead the yoga practices.

What to Bring

After you register, you will receive more information, including a list of items to bring, such as a Bible, journal, pen, and a yoga mat (if you have one).
