PVUMC Career Connecting: Build a Lifelong Network

PVUMC member Tom Colceri will moderate a panel discussion of seasoned professionals on Thursday, April 20 at 5:30 pm in H1. Learn their secret recipes on how to create and foster meaningful relationships which lead to business and personal growth. Find out how to find an inspirational mentor, tap into your personal tank of resources, get to know key influencers and nurture relationships.

Gather at 5:30 pm and enjoy refreshments together. The presentation will be 5:30-7 pm. Registration encouraged, but not required, at Eventbrite. Panelists include:

Michael Lindstrom, who is an author, professional speaker and business consultant. He is married to radio and television personality, Monica Lindstrom. They have two boys, Rhett (8) and Colt (5). They have been members of PVUMC for the past 6 years and their boys attended PVUMC Preschool.

Mike graduated from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and subsequently earned his Juris Doctorate (JD) from California Western School of Law in San Diego. He immediately became a Corporate Consultant for International Author and Speaker, Anthony “Tony” Robbins. Under the tutelage of Robbins, Michael consulted and worked as an Executive Coach for Fortune 500 Companies across North America. Becoming one of the youngest Executive Coaches in the Robbins Results Coaching Company, Michael had already earned a reputation as a straight-shooting, passionate advocate for his coaching clients. He has delivered over 1,500 corporate speaking events as both a keynote speaker and a corporate consultant. Michael’s work with individuals, like executives, leaders, top performing sales professionals, public figures and even parents, emphasizes creating a powerful image and brand. Many top leaders seek his personal coaching when bolstering their public and/or corporate image.

Most recently, he published the book titled What’s Your Story: Discover the Man Behind Your Dad last Father’s Day, 2016. Mike has been featured on NBC News, Fox News, ABC, Inside Edition, the Howard Stern Show and many other radio and print publications. He is also the Co-Chairman with Arizona philanthropist Jerry Colangelo for an AZ non-profit Lift Up America which instills character building for at-risk kids here in the Valley.

Sarah Quinn, who has over 13 years of combined experience as a registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner. Her experience working in both hospital and clinic settings gives her a broad perspective and understanding of the needs of her patients. She has extensive experience treating patients dealing with chronic pain and hormone imbalances. Cosmetic and aesthetic enhancements have also been part of her practice for over a decade. She opened Arcadia Wellness Center in 2014. Being in private practice allows her to fully connect with her patients and get to know them as individuals. She specializes in biogenetical hormone replacement, aesthetics, weight loss, and interventional pain management. She is a member of the PVUMC Preschool Board, member of the Arcadia and South Scottsdale Moms Club Board, has volunteered with the UMOM Women’s Axillary and is a leader of a Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) chapter. She is a wife and mother of two precious kids.


John Smeck, who was Co-Founding Partner for Johnson Capital Partners of Arizona, commercial mortgage banking and capital advisory services firm, Phoenix, Arizona, 1985-2010. From 1979-1985, he was Vice President, Group Manager, InterFirst Bank Corporation, N.A., in Houston, Texas. Professional Memberships include Arizona Commercial Mortgage Bankers Association, past president and director; Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, past president and director; and Thunderbirds – host organization for the Waste Management Phoenix Open PGA Tour Event. He attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a BBA in Finance. He has been married for 29 years to Margaret (Meg) Ragland Smeck, and together they have four children: Allison (27), Sadie (25), Jack (21) and Stuart (19).


Elizabeth M. Vernellis is a management consultant, process improvement engineer, aspiring author wife and mother. She has been married for almost 15 years to David Vernellis, Director of Operations for SmithGroupJJR. They have two happy and healthy children, Andreina (6) and Owen (4). They have been members of PVUMC for the past two years. Elizabeth has been very active at the preschool where Andreina and Owen have both attended. She is currently serving as vice chair of the PVUMC Preschool Board and liaison to the Church Council.

Elizabeth graduated from the University of Michigan College of Engineering with a BSE in Industrial and Operations Engineering in 1999. After several engineering summer internships with General Motors, she decided to focus on consulting and began her career with Deloitte and Touche LLP in Detroit, MI. She was recruited by the then CEO of Ford Motor Company to help with the creation of a new entity called Covisint. Covisint was a business-to-business online automotive exchanges established by Ford, General Motors and DaimlerChrysler with the goal of handling all procurement, product development and supply chain management needs of the automotive industry.

While at Covisint, Elizabeth gained experience working across several groups including strategic partnerships, customer service and delivery and finally for the Office of General Council as a Contract Manager. During her time at Covisint, Elizabeth started working towards her MBA in the evenings at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business where she focused on strategy and business process optimization and graduated with high distinction in 2007. By the time she had finished her MBA and upon the sale of Covisint to Compuware Corporation, Elizabeth had made a career transition to OnStar by General Motors. She began with OnStar as an Information Technology Contract Manager and briefly held a position in strategic alliances before re-entering the world of Consulting with AT Kearney.

After two years of strategic information technology consulting across the public, private and government sectors with AT Kearney, Elizabeth traded her 100% travel career to settle in Phoenix and start a family. She took a business development position with OPENLANE, an online vehicle wholesale marketplace. When OPENLANE was purchased by Adesa in 2011, Elizabeth decided to take a break from the hustle and bustle of working for others and now works for herself as a consultant.

Elizabeth enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, wine, yoga and taking herself a little less seriously these days. She spends a significant amount of time fundraising for ovarian cancer. As her youngest child transitions to full-time school, she is ramping up her consulting work and taking on more projects, mostly through word of mouth and networking. For the time being, she enjoys the freedom this provides and the chance to focus on watching her children grow.


Tom Colceri, moderator, is an Arizona native with more than 25 years’ experience working in hospitality, golf, and luxury sales and marketing in the valley.
As Vice President with OB Sports Golf Course Management, Director of Membership Sales at The Silverleaf Club, the flagship property for DMB Associates, and a member of the executive team at Desert Mountain Properties, Colceri is recognized as a leader in the golf luxury real estate market. With added development experience as Project Coordinator for Quintero Golf and Country Club in Peoria, AZ and Vice President for the golf course architecture team of Graham and Panks International, Tom’s expertise covers all facets of the golf real estate business. Today, Tom works with luxury homebuilder, Camelot, and is responsible for new Villas in Adero Canyon, Fountain Hills.
