On Thursday, February 16, clergy from three faiths present “Rituals for the Deceased” as part of the Salaam-Chai-Paradise event on Jewish, Christian and Muslim views about Death and Dying: “The End of Life Here… and the Life Herafter (?).” The first session was on “Caring for the Terminally Ill,” held at Temple Chai, 4645 E Marilyn Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85032, on January 26. The February 16 talk and the final session on “After Life (?)” on March 2 will be held at PVUMC. Come at 6:30 pm to register and enjoy refreshments. Each program begins at 7 pm.
Clergy presentations will be given by Rev. Andrea Andress, associate pastor for spiritual formation at PVUMC; Rabbi Elana Kanter and Brother Ahmed Ewais on February 16. On March 2, Pastor Kelly Bender, Imam Sabahudin Ceman and Rabbi Bonnie Koppell lead a discussion on “After Life (?).” The talks will be followed by roundtable discussions.
SALAAM-CHAI-PARADISE is “An interfaith program promoting the understanding and acceptance of the differences and similarities between the three Abrahamic faiths, Jewish, Christian and Muslim, and promoting a united front against bigotry of all kinds.”
