Holy Week includes a series of worship experiences designed to bring us closer to Jesus, as we remember Jesus’ entrance into Jerusalem, his Last Supper with the disciples, and his death and resurrection. We invite you to join us for:

  • Palm/Passion Sunday Worship Celebration, April 9, 2017, at 8 am in the chapel; at 9:30 am in the sanctuary, with a children’s palm parade at the beginning of the service; and worship in the chapel at Ignite (11 am), where the young adult lifegroup has been invited to carry in the cross. Palm/Passion Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week.
  • On Maundy Thursday, you’re invited to celebrate the Lord’s Supper at a 7 pm worship service in the chapel. Rev. Eve Williams will preach on The Gift of Misfits.
  • Good Friday worship will be a Tenebrae service with the choir singing Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem with orchestral accompaniment. Join us at 7 pm in the sanctuary.

During the season of Lent, we explored Gifts of the Dark Wood, based on the book by Eric Elnes, who discusses the blessings we receive while we experience difficulties such as uncertainty, emptiness or temptation. This journey of faith leads us to Easter: to Christ’s resurrection, from death to life, to a new beginning in God’s love and grace. We hope you’ll join us for a new beginning.

Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday begins with a sunrise service at 6 am in the amphitheater. The Youth Choir sings and Christopher Wurpts, youth ministries director, will preach on “The Impossible Made Real.” The Youth Choir will also sing at 8 am, the first of three traditional worship services held in the sanctuary at 8, 9:30 and 11 am. Come hear inspiring music and messages as we celebrate Christ’s victory and the gift of new life on Easter. Like last year, Boy Scout Troop 30 will serve a pancake breakfast from 7-9:30 am.
