Every month, PVUMC offers an opportunity to pack meals for starving children around the world at the Feed My Starving Children Mesa warehouse, located at:
Mesa Fiesta Building
1345 South Alma School Road
Mesa, AZ 85210
This summer, sign up to participate on one or more of the following Saturdays:June 17, July 15, August 12 and September 9, 4:30-6:30pm. More dates will be added to round out the year later in 2017. Register to participate in any or all of the packing events by emailing Jim Bateman, firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, a contact phone number, the number of participants, and the names and emails of those over 18.
Feed My Starving Children asks for a donation at the event, but there is no fee or obligation other than to serve. Donate as the spirit moves you. Each meal costs 22 cents to produce, and several hundred are packed during the two-hour packing session. Many participants donate $50 based on the number of meals packed.
On Thursday, July 20, the older children will take a field trip to the Mesa Warehouse for a packing event of their own. If you’re registered for VBC, you may already know about this. If not, read more here.
Everyone at VBC has an opportunity to give to those less fortunate through the VBC Mission Project. Read more about how to donate sample-size toiletries or make a monetary donation to help the homeless served by the Justa Center and UMOM New Day Centers.
Unique gifts are available at the FMSC Marketplace. Watch this video below to see hear Nqobile’s story about how she is making handcrafted products, which she can sell so she can feed her family and keep her children in school.
Visit the online FMSC marketplace to purchase one of the braided hope bracelets — a perfect gift for Mother’s Day or for a special graduate in your life! Other gifts are available too from Swaziland artisans. Your purchases help Nqobile and other artisans make a living with limited skills and materials. Thank you for helping others. You are God’s love in action!
