Journeys: Explore. Discover. Connect.

PVUMC’s new Journeys small group ministry invites you to travel with others on the pathway to faith. It’s up to you to decide where you’ll go and what path you’ll take to get there. Discover where God is leading you, explore areas of spiritual growth and renewal, and connect with others. Who will your traveling companions be? What will you discover about yourself, your faith, and about those who are journeying with you? Where will you see God and where will God meet you?

Choose your itinerary and go.

Whether Christianity is new to you, or whether you are a lifelong Christian, you’ll find a place where you can walk with others on a spiritual journey. Allow the Holy Spirit to ignite your faith and transform your life as you create community with others. Let Christ shape and enrich your heart, mind, soul and strength, in all the fullness of God’s love and grace.

With so many itineraries to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find at least one place where you can engage with others in a community of faith.

If you didn’t pick up your guidebook in worship on Sunday, September 10 to see all the choices, pick up a copy in the church office, at the welcome center or download it here. [PLEASE NOTE: the downloaded version may not paginate correctly.]

Tour guides were available to answer your questions outside of worship on the patio, or down in the Fellowship Center or Paradise Perk on Celebration Sunday, September 24. Visiting with them in the Fellowship Center as you sampled the desserts at their tables following our ONE worship service at 9:30 am was a great way to ask questions about the opportunities in the guidebook, and meet some of the group leaders, your Journeys tour guides.

Journey of Faith: An Introduction

Senior Pastor Dave Summers and his wife, Kim Summers, have cancelled their entry-level class, Journey of Faith: An Introduction. They plan to offer this three-week class in January if there is enough interest. The class includes an introduction to the Bible and the United Methodist Church, information on how to discover your spiritual gifts, and devotional practices to help you enrich your life of faith and better discern where God may be leading you. Email Pastor Dave if you would like to be added to the list of participants.

On Sundays, October 8-November 5, you’re invited to the Gathering after the 9:30 am service. If you’re new to the church, and want to learn more about PVUMC’s mission and ministries, join us for Paradise Perk coffee and casual conversation. Allow us to introduce you to others who are involved in ministry at PVUMC, and feel free to ask questions. Come once, or every week through November 5. It’s not a class, simply a meeting place.

All of the Journeys groups are in line with our mission and vision:

Our Mission: Alive with the Spirit, we bring God’s love into action, by igniting faith, transforming lives and creating community.

Our Vision: Love that crosses all barriers and embraces all people.

No registration is necessary for any of the Journeys groups or classes, unless where noted.

Some of our groups are listed below.

One group, Knit Together, meets Wednesday mornings in the Perk, 9-10:30 am, and invites women to come chat and hang out while knitting, crocheting or working on other crafts.
