As we seek to be more inclusive as a congregation, you’re invited to attend an “Open for Worship” workshop led by One Community members to help you learn more about faith and LGBT inclusion.
In a recent article by best companies AZ, the author wrote that “Inclusivity is paramount in workplaces these days. And some companies place it at the top of the priority list when it comes to making their team members feel comfortable to be themselves. More and more organizations are not only eliminating discrimination but creating places where all people are valued and can thrive. (Enter, the best companies for LGBT inclusion.)”
At PVUMC, we’re praying for greater inclusion, and working to create a community of faith where everyone is valued and feels welcome. Our new invitational statement says, “We invite you to join us on a shared journey of life and faith, open to all, regardless of age, ability, economics, color, race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, politics, theology or anything else that might separate us from each other. Whoever you are and wherever you may be on your spiritual journey, you’re invited to walk with Christ in community with all of God’s children, and embrace the endless possibilities of God’s unconditional love.” This event is hosted by the All-Embracing Ministry Team and invites all of us to journey further into our vision to have a “love that crosses all barriers and embraces all people.”
This workshop will help refresh and deepen your commitment to full legal protections across Arizona, and encourage you to deepen your understanding of how the LGBT community views our church.
RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org for the 2-hour workshop and lunch, 12:15-2:15 pm in the Fellowship Center on Sunday, October 29. Suggested $5 donation for lunch at the event.
