Are you concerned about how the new tax rules will affect you and your family? Learn the facts and dispel the myths about how the Tax Cuts and New Jobs Act will change your income tax for 2018 and beyond in a presentation by church member and chair of the Finance Team, Monica J. Stern, CPA, on February 26, 2018, at 6:30 pm in the Chapel.
Whether you are retired or a young family, a business owner or an employee, you will be affected by the new tax rules that went into effect on January 1, 2018.
The US House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee published this document and the Tax Foundation has supplied this one. The United States Committee on Finance also has information on their website, including a policy highlights document.
Monica says, “The media has been very negative in relation to charitable tax deductions, forecasting that contributions to charities will decrease because fewer people will get a tax benefit for contributing. Actually, the opposite is true. People will have more household income due to decreased taxes and giving should go up.”
She plans to discuss potential tax savings strategies and welcomes your questions in this interactive workshop brought to you by the Paradise Valley United Methodist Church Foundation. Read more about the PVUMC Foundation here.
