Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I give?

A. As Christians, we understand that everything we have comes from God. We give out of love and gratitude for God, and to support God’s work through the church.

Q. How much should I give? 10 percent?

A. The Bible teaches us giving in proportion to the material blessings we receive. We encourage committing a percentage of your income and increasing that percentage over time. Tithing means giving the first tenth or 10 percent of your income to God.

Q. When should I give?

A. Regular, faithful giving cultivates a lifestyle of generosity and connects our generosity to our blessings. Pledge to give consistently — weekly, monthly, quarterly or annually.

Pledge Online

Since 2016, PVUMC has offered a paperless pledge form. We still have a pledge card available, but encourage you to pledge online. Both show your commitment to PVUMC, so choose just one.

To make an online pledge, visit and fill out the online form. When you finish, you will be invited to set up recurring giving. Every situation is unique, so we encourage you to contact us with questions by calling the church office or emailing

Your pledges help us determine our budget for 2018-2019, beginning July 1. By pledging your support early, we can better budget for the future. Thank you for pledging your support to PVUMC.

If you are unable to make a decision today, we invite you to pray about how God is calling you to support the church. Submit the online pledge form anytime before June 30.

You may choose to start your new pledge immediately, or on July 1, 2018.
