Are you looking for a preschool that nurtures the whole child? Welcome to Paradise Valley United Methodist Church Preschool, where we offer a balanced, hands-on curriculum. PVUMC Preschool is a nationally accredited, faith-based school located in Paradise Valley, Arizona on the campus of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church, 4455 E Lincoln Drive, Paradise Valley, 85253.

PVUMC Preschool hosts an open house this January 2019. You are invited to tour the PVUMC Preschool, visit classrooms, meet the staff and learn more about the classroom curriculum and school philosophy on Wednesday and Thursday mornings, January 16 and 17, 2019. The Open House is from 9:15 to 11 am.

The Preschool offers multiple day options and times for classes and has a Parent-Toddler (18-24 months) program as well as Lunch and Play Bunch, After School Programs, and Mom’s Morning Out Nursery (ages 1 & walking).

At PVUMC Preschool, we believe in the power of play. As beloved children’s advocate Fred Rogers once said, play is “the work of childhood.” We heartily agree—and on-going research confirms our philosophy—that children learn best through play and through making child-directed choices in the classroom. Our teachers and assistants nurture each child’s developmental growth through hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration and discovery and cultivate a love of learning.

Our curriculum follows the natural progress of development for young children, starting with more informal structure for the youngest child and moving into alternating periods of verbally guided experiences and creative free play as the child grows. Last week, the Preschool brought in a snow machine, which offered so many fun opportunities for development through the discovery of snow in the desert!

Registration for the new fall 2019 semester and 2019-2020 year begins January 28, 2019, for currently enrolled and NEW students. Applications are accepted year round.

If you are already attending PVUMC Preschool, please come and spend time visiting the classes you may want to consider registering your child for next year. And if you know of someone looking for a Preschool, invite them to come to the Open House.

For more information, or to tour the preschool another day, please email Mindy Sobraske, preschool director.
