Explore. Discover. Connect.
PVUMC’s Journeys small group ministry invites you to travel with others on the pathway of faith. It’s up to you to decide where you’ll go and what path you’ll take to get there. Discover where God is leading you, explore areas of spiritual growth and renewal, and connect with others. Who will your traveling companions be? What will you discover about yourself, your faith, and about those who are journeying with you? Where will you see God and where will God meet you?
Journeys Small Groups – Winter/Spring 2019
This Winter and Spring, continue with the same small group you met with during the fall, or join another. Sometimes, it’s good to make a change. Sometimes, you feel like you’re right where you need to be. Spend some time praying for guidance from God, who will lead you in the right direction. Classes usually meet weekly, twice a month or once a month. The new guidebook is available in the church office, or download a copy here.
Check the church calendar to see which groups meet when and reach out to the leader. Need contact information? We have a church membership directory that can help connect you with others in the PVUMC community.
Choose your itinerary and go.
Whether Christianity is new to you, or whether you are a lifelong Christian, you’ll find a place where you can walk with others on a spiritual journey. Allow the Holy Spirit to ignite your faith and transform your life as you create community with others. Let Christ shape and enrich your heart, mind, soul and strength, in all the fullness of God’s love and grace.
With so many itineraries to choose from, we’re sure you’ll find at least one place where you can engage with others in a community of faith.
Free, quality childcare is available for all of our on-campus offerings. Call 602.840.8360, ext 134, at least 48 hours in advance to make a reservation in our Childcare Center. If you need to cancel, please call the number again, even at the last minute.
Our Mission and Vision
All of the Journeys groups are in line with our mission and vision:
Our Mission: God’s love in action
Our Vision: Love that crosses all barriers and embraces all people
No registration is necessary for any of the Journeys groups or classes, unless where noted.
Knitting Together meets Wednesday mornings in the Perk, 9-10:30 am, and invites women to come chat and hang out while knitting, crocheting or working on other crafts.
All ages and levels of ability are welcome, and members are encouraged to help each other. Cheryn Wall leads this group, which meets through year-round. Come anytime.
Some of the group members make prayer shawls as part of the Caring Ministry Team. The shawls are blessed in worship, then given to those undergoing cancer treatments as well as to shut-ins.
It’s one more way PVUMC brings God’s love into action.

NEW: Pub Theology
Leaders: Bill Terrill and Christopher Wurpts
Last Wednesday of the Month
Jan 30-May 29, 2019

Each month, 4-5 spiritually-focused questions will be posed to people in attendance, usually following a general theme. Discussion will be moderated by the leaders, but with few restrictions. People are invited to talk about their views on faith and religion in a safe space. Questions are encouraged. By understanding ourselves better, we understand the God who created us more fully.
