Welcome to Lauren Coffman, who officially joined the staff of Paradise Valley United Methodist Church on March 25, 2019. As Minister of Engagement, she will help equip staff and volunteers for ministry to live into the full potential God has for them.

Lauren began her career as a Director of Family Ministries at a church in Mesa. She graduated with a Master’s of Divinity from Fuller Seminary Southwest in 2016. While in seminary, she continued to work in Family Ministries at The Spring Church in Tempe, AZ, and in advertising as a Project Manager. As a Project Manager, Lauren says, “I helped create and implement a variety of processes that improved efficiency for large teams.” She hopes to use that experience to work with ministry teams, staff and clergy at PVUMC to increase and enhance engagement at the church and enrich our faith.

Lauren says, “With over ten years of ministry experience, I enjoy organizing and equipping teams to help bring folks closer to Jesus. I have always had a heart for ministry and had been praying for a role that allowed me to help lead people to Jesus while touching on gifts of organization, planning, and pastoral care. Shortly after my husband, our discernment group and I began praying for an opportunity, this position was presented to me. This role is truly an answer to prayer and I am very much looking forward to being a part of what God is doing at PVUMC.”

Lauren shared some fun facts about herself:

  1. I am an Arizona native and grew up near the Cave Creek area.
  2. My husband and I have been married for almost six years.
  3. We have three children, all under two years of age!
  4. We have two Puggles and two cats.
  5. My middle name is Tupper…yes like Tupperware (it’s a family name)

A formal announcement about Lauren joining the staff will be made in all three worship services at 8, 9:30 and 11 am on Sunday, March 31. Please join us as we welcome Lauren in person.

Her bio and photo have been added to the staff page, as well as her contact information. You’re invited to send her a personal email welcoming her to PVUMC. Send your note to Lauren Coffman at LCoffman@pvumc.org. To hear her preach, come to church on Sunday, April 28, when we’ll meet in the Fellowship Center for one all-church worship service followed by a church-wide picnic.
