Many thanks to Bruce Bachus, Corrine Beebe, Paul Emshwiller, Kent Heltne, Bill Howard, Kaye Nandin, Tom Rugen, Wynn Tyner, Dave Van Vlack, and Don Wall for a successful PVUMC Serves Habitat for Humanity workday on May 4. The team of 10 split their time working on the last two homes in an 18-unit townhome complex in Tempe They worked side by side with Tizazu Wodajo, who is buying one of the homes with his wife and three children, and Nadia Vega, who is buying the other home for herself and her two children.

The volunteers and homeowners installed locks and hung security doors, completed the installation of dishwashers, painted interior walls and did some touch-up work. They also installed shower rods, caulked and spackled, patched stucco, and cleaned. The two homes are nearly finished and will be dedicated on Saturday, May 18, followed by a block party in the park across the street. Many thanks for being God’s love in action on this PVUMC Serves project!
