Ashley Strawser, music and arts ministries director, announces the 2019 PVUMC Summer Sundays Music Schedule. On Father’s Day, she’s issued a special invitation to all women and girls to join a Treble Choir in honor of Father’s Day. Other opportunities to sing and ring as part of the 9:30 am worship experience are:

Sunday, June 16 – Women’s Choir, in honor of Father’s Day, Total Praise

Sunday, June 23 – Bells, TBD*

Sunday, July 14 – Chancel Choir, He Never Failed Me Yet

Sunday, July 28 – Bells, TBD*

Sunday, August 4 – Combined Choir, Adults/Youth/Kids, TBD

Sunday, August 18 – Men’s Choir, TBD

Sunday, August 25 – Bells, TBD*

If you love to sing, our Summer Sundays offer the perfect opportunity for you to join the choir in a low-pressure setting. If you’re a member of the choir, we encourage you to bring a friend.

No evening rehearsals necessary! Simply join us in the choir room, A4, in the sanctuary building at 9 am, just before the 9:30 am service, to go over the morning’s music.

*If you can read music, play bells or play an instrument, join us for a Bell Sunday!

Fall Music Schedule

Our children and youth music programs begin on Sunday, August 18, the same day as the fall kick-offs for these groups. Rehearsals are on Sundays and the groups sing in worship at 9:30 am about once a month.

Music Makers, our after-school elementary group, starts its 2019-2020 year on Wednesday, August 21. This is a great way to introduce your children, age 6-11, to music and rhythm. They sing, play instruments and learn how to ring handbells. A women’s group, Sojourners, meets in the church library, G2, at the same time, 4:30-5:30 pm.

The adult Chancel Choir begins its regular rehearsals for the 2019-2020 year on Wednesday, September 4 at 7:30 pm in the choir room, A4.
