So Many ways to Celebrate…

Jesus’ Birthday Party

We celebrate Jesus’ birthday (Christmas!) the Sunday before Christmas during Sunday school class time. The celebration varies from class to class because each teacher chooses how to make the day special in his or her own way. The church provides cake, children sing “Happy Birthday” to Jesus, and everyone celebrates Jesus’ special day.

Christmas Eve

Spending Christmas Eve with your children is important to us at PVUMC. We plan the first two services of the evening with special attention to children and families. Childcare is offered during the first three services of the evening, and children are always welcome to worship with you.

Visit of the Magi

At the beginning of January, we celebrate Epiphany, when the three “Magi” visit children in their classrooms and come to the Children’s Moment in worship. Dressed in their kingly garb, they bring good news of their trip to see Jesus, and present all the children with gifts, just like they gave to Jesus.

PVUMC offers several other family holiday activities and events, including a children’s Christmas pageant and a family Christmas celebration, which are coordinated by other ministries within the church.
