PVUMC Children Can Make a Difference
Children at PVUMC have the opportunity to contribute to the church’s greater missions projects and make a difference just like adults. Helping “the least of these” as Jesus teaches us is a value that we imbue in our children from an early age. Children are encouraged to bring a small offering to their Sunday School class if they wish to help the church and missions. A mission project is also a central part of the activities conducted during Vacation Bible Camp every year and large mission projects are often incorporated into the Sunday School class lessons. Children and their families are always encouraged to give their time or donations as a family to help projects like Feed My Starving Children, No More Malaria, care packages for the homeless, luminaria bags for Relay for Life, and much more.
Mission Possible Kids is a new program for FaithQuakes students (Grades 4-6). Children can enroll in the program and earn stars for each project they participate in, or simply participate project by project without joining. The membership fee includes a T-shirt and a lifetime membership certificate to MP Kids. Each month, we have a designated “Mission Sunday,” where FaithQuakes kids will serve our church, community, or the world. Sometimes, we will include a trip to deliver items we collect, or learn about the service we provide.
