The Paradise Valley United Methodist Church community gathers for special worship services several times a year.
God’s Love in Action
A Memorial Service of Light is celebrated on the first Sunday of Advent to remember those of our church family who have died during the year. Contact Caring Ministries for more information or to dedicate one or more candles to a loved one.
Christmas Eve worship services, most of which include candlelight, are offered throughout the afternoon and evening. All services include special music, and childcare is offered before 9 pm. Please see our church calendar (Events page) for more times and more information. Or search using the magnifying glass to read more on our News (blog) page.
Ash Wednesday services mark the beginning of Lent. During Holy Week, children help celebrate Palm Sunday with a Palm Parade. Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services are also held, and each has different characteristics and themes. The church also offers a church-wide Lenten study during this season, as well as during Advent.
We celebrate Easter with a unique, outdoor sunrise service in our open-air amphitheater on the northwest side of the campus, and offer three more traditional indoor services in our sanctuary at 8, 9:30 and 11 am. The youth typically lead the early service, with the youth director giving the message and the youth choir singing. The sunrise service also features communion and contemporary Christian music. All of our choirs and music ensembles offer their gifts of music at the various services.
