Traditional Service | 9am on Sundays

Joyous, spirited worship, thoughtful, topical sermons, and a welcoming atmosphere are what you can expect at a traditional service at PVUMC.

People who attend this service really love the music. Whether listening to our full choir, youth choir or bell choir - you’ll feel spiritually lifted by the gorgeous music filling the sanctuary. This service is structured with traditional experiences such as liturgical readings, traditional hymns and multiple genres of music, and we aim to keep our sermons practical - addressing the real world needs we all face while offering ways to deepen our spiritual practices.

What To Expect

We open every service with Words of Welcome and announcements. In general, our traditional service then flows as follows:

  • Call to Worship
  • Hymn
  • Opening Prayer
  • Prayers of the People and the Lord’s Prayer
  • Sharing of God’s Tithes and Offerings
  • Hymn of Preparation
  • Scripture
  • Sermon
  • Hymn of Commitment
  • Benediction
  • Postlude

We celebrate communion, a symbolic act in which we remember God’s love for us, the first Sunday of each month.
